This self reflective body of work entitled ”Pollination”, developed out of my interest in the life  cycle of plants and my direct response to adapting to life’s constant changes through a process of mental,  spiritual, and physical reinvention.  I chose this theme because I often find my existential position in life can be expressed and illustrated through the life cycle of plants, and flora of all kinds. Pollination is a beginning phase of a new plants life. Because of this paralleled relationship between my life and phases of the plant cycle I developed my signature style of merging the female form and nature. Through this transfusion of the female form and nature Im expressing my life,  but also my deepest desire to have and enjoy a strong oneness with nature and all its living things.

Eventhough my work is a form of self-expression, the women in my work represent those with great ideas, passions, and desires. They are pollinated, pollinators, or in the beginning stages of their journey. The textiles of soft yarn create a pollen-like texture when touched.  Like pollen I depended on factors of my environment to move me in the right direction.  Many of the figures in my work are suspended in the air, flying, or “Trying to Fly”. All of my life experiences have pollinated me and informed my artistic decisions to get me here to my first solo exhibtion, and its just the beginning.
